Clinics

UNI Outdoors Clinics offers a variety of educational workshops ranging from belay clinics to canoe clinics! Clinic offerings vary from semester to semester and are available to students, faculty, and community members. Current clinic offerings can be found below.

Interested in learning how to belay? Sign up for one of our belay clinics! We will teach you how to properly belay, tie knots, and use other safety equipment at the Climbing Wall. We offer both top rope belay clinics and lead belay clinics.

Interested in clinics not currently offered? We can accommodate personalized clinics such as canoe clinics, log rolling clinics, kayak rolling clinics, and MORE! Contact our office by phone or email for pricing. Personalized clinics MUST have a minimum number of 4 people.

Rock Revolution

  • Location: WRC Climbing Wall

  • Time: 8am- 5pm

The 25th anniversary of UNI's annual climbing competition is going to be a dream! Rock Revolution is a friendly and fun spirited top rope and boulder competition is open to climbers of ALL skill levels. This event will challenge you and leave you exhilarated! Don't miss out on the costume competition! For our slumber party themed day show off your best set of PJs while you climb. To register, stop by WRC 174 or online.

Climbers registering on the day of competition must do so at 7:15am in order to get a climb time.

Boulder Bash

UNI's annual bouldering competition is going to be an experience to celebrate. Boulder Bash is a friendly and fun spirited competition open to climbers of ALL skill levels. Events

UNI Outdoors offers a number of events on campus throughout the entire school year! Come make some new friends while making a s’more, cross-country skiing around the ponds, playing broomball, slacklining, and more!

 

Event Offerings


Broomball

  • Date: Feb 1 and Feb 22
  • Time:  =6-9:00pm
  • Location: WRC Pond
  • Cost: FREE

Test your balance and coordination with a game of broomball on the WRC pond! An exciting game much like hockey but without the skates! All brooms, balls, and helmets will be provided to the players. It is highly recommended to come wearing knee pads or extra bottom layers for potential falls on ice. Sign up online or in WRC 174.


Cross Country Ski Nights

  • Date: Jan 31, Feb 7, Feb 21 and Feb 28
  • Time:  7:00pm
  • Location: WRC West Trails
  • Cost: $5

Spend some time with UNI Outdoors while cross-country skiing on our freshly groomed west campus recreation trail! Snow permitting, we will meet in the outdoor recreation office WRC 174 to gear up and head out to the trails.  Skis, boots, headlamps are provided, and if you bring your own personal mug hot chocolate will be provided. No experience is necessary, but be sure to dress for the weather! Sign up online or in WRC 174.  **please arrive 10-15 minutes early**


Valentines Ski Night
