Since participation in the intramural sports program is on a voluntary basis, neither the University nor Wellness and Recreation Services will accept responsibility for injuries sustained while participating in the program. Participants are responsible for any and all costs arising out of injury, death, or property damage sustained through participation. All participants are strongly encouraged and advised to provide their own health insurance coverage and receive a yearly health examination. High-risk activities may require signing an acknowledgement of risk and waiver form.

All injuries should be reported to the supervisor in charge at the time of the accident.

(Mouth guards are highly recommended for flag football, basketball, and other contact sports. Shin guards are mandatory for all intramural soccer events.)

During major intramural activities Accelerated Rehabilitation Center provides facilities and trained personnel to assist any injured participant. Accelerated Rehabilitation Center is located on 1710 West 1st street, Cedar falls, Iowa. Injuries of a more serious nature are referred to city hospitals and the cost is borne by the participant.

The Accelerated Rehabilitation Center will provide free sports injury screens at all their locations:

1111 Ansborough Ave.

If there is an accommodation you need in order to participate in a RS program or activity, please contact WRC 101 at (319) 273-6275.
